Join us Friday mornings for an invigorating swim in the stunning South River as the sun rises!
Immerse yourself in the refreshing waters of the South River on Friday mornings, where the mesmerizing beauty of the sunrise elevates your swimming experience. Early Birds program is designed for individuals who enjoy the tranquility of open water.
Speed is unimportant, but endurance is required. Participants need be comfortable swimming for an hour with only short rest intervals occurring in deep water.
SCHEDULE & PRICING
Discover Your Flow in the Water
We swim on Friday mornings from 6:15 to 7:15 AM starting from the boat ramp at the Sylvan Shores Beach. Park at clubhouse and meet at the beach. Toes in promptly at 6:15! If you are participating for the first time, click here to message Coach Traci to be paired with a walking buddy. Clubhouse is not open for facility or changing use. Directions can be found below.
Wetsuits & Swim Buoys
Swim buoys are required, and wetsuits are optional. Swim buoys are available for purchase online and on location, and wetsuits are available for rent.
Location
Check-in is the Sylvan Shores Clubhouse at 100 Orchard Road, Riva MD 21140. Personal belongings should remain with participants or secured in vehicles. Get Directions
Parking
Limited parking is available at the clubhouse and the overflow ballfield lot. Please refrain from parking on the street as we must respect the community. If the clubhouse lot is full, park at 109 Meadow Road, Riva MD 21140. From there, walk back to the clubhouse for check-in.
Weather Policy
Swim sessions will be canceled in cases of heavy rain or storms, and if heavy rain has occurred within the last 24 hours. Registered participants will receive a cancellation email, and updates will be posted on the Crossing Currents Aquatics Facebook page. Please note that swims are non-refundable, but canceled sessions can be rescheduled during that year’s season.

Bring your swim float, a towel, water for hydration, and any personal items you may need after your swim. Consider air temperature and have warm clothing to warm up post swim as needed.
