Learn from Great Chesapeake Bay Race Director and Veteran 4.4 Finishers
Bay Ready Day is a chance for athletes planning to swim in 2025 or considering it for a future goal! Attendees will enjoy an open water practice swim from 9:30 - 11 AM and engage in discussion/presentation from 11:30 - 1 PM.
Great Chesapeake Bay Swim Race Director, Jason Chance, will be onsite to share latest news and updates and to answer participant questions.
Veteran finishers of the 4.4 Bay Swim will share their tried and true training tips, race day notes, and experienced suggestions for your benefit!

Great Chesapeake Bay Swim Director, Jason Chance will be sharing details about this years’ events and answering questions from participants.
To participate in the training swim in advance of presentation, check in at the clubhouse from 8:45 AM to 9:15 AM
The swim course is open from 9:30 AM to 11 AM
The Bay Ready Day presentation will include hospitality and run from 11:30 AM - 1 PM
Wetsuits & Swim Buoys
Swim/Visibility buoys are required, and wetsuits are optional. Swim buoys are available for purchase online and onsite, and wetsuits are available for rent.
Location
Check-in is @ Sylvan Shores Clubhouse at 100 Orchard Road, Riva MD 21140. The clubhouse provides bathroom access, but personal belongings should travel with participants to the beach or be secured in vehicles. Get Directions
Parking
Limited parking is available at the clubhouse and the overflow ballfield lot. Please refrain from parking on the street as the community does not allow it. If the clubhouse lot is full, park at 109 Meadow Road, Riva MD 21140. From the ballfield, walk back to the clubhouse for check-in. Carpooling is encouraged!
Weather Policy
Swim sessions will be canceled in cases of heavy rain or storms within 24 hours of scheduled swim. Registered participants will receive a cancellation email, and updates will post to the Crossing Currents Aquatics Facebook page. Please note that swims are non-refundable, but may be rescheduled during that year’s season.
