Swim Squad is a 10 week intramural swim team that meets Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons at the Severna Park Racquetball Club. Coaches follow a stroke development curriculum and share weekly video demonstrations to introduce and reinforce skills.
There are two practice groups, one for 8& under and one for swimmers ages 9-17. Coaches are often in water with athletes, reinforcing proper stroke mechanics. The 8&under group meets on FRIDAY evenings from 7:00-7:50pm and SUNDAY afternoons from 4:00-4:50pm. The 9&Over group meets from 8:00-9:00pm on FRIDAY evenings and 5:00-6:00pm on SUNDAY.
To join Swim Squad, swimmers should be at least 6 years old AND have participated in one summer of summer swim team.
This is NOT a learn to swim program, and is not appropriate for swimmers who cannot complete at least one length of freestyle AND one length of backstroke independently. If your swimmer is interested but not quite ready for Squad, please take a look at our learn to swim lessons HERE.

Homeschool Hurricanes
Homeschool Hurricanes is an intramural non competitive swim team for swimmers ages 5-18. This year, Crossing Currents Aquatics is offering Monday/Wednesday Sessions at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center, and Thursday Sessions at the Severna Park Racquetball Club. To be eligible for this team, swimmers must be able to complete 25 yards of both freestyle and backstroke completely independently and unassisted. While we will work on endurance and stroke mechanics throughout the session, the safety of our athletes is of utmost importance. If your swimmer is not ready for the Homeschool Hurricanes intramural team, please register for the Homeschool Hurricanes Prep Class instead. The MONDAY and WEDNESDAY sessions meet from 12:30-1:30pm at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center. The THURSDAY session meets from 12:00-1:00pm at the Severna Park Racquetball Club

Homeschool Prep Class
Is your swimmer aged 3-6 not quite ready for Homeschool Hurricanes or Swim Squad? Join the Hurricanes Prep Class. This class is for swimmers who are comfortable putting their face in the water, but still need to learn the basics. This class will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center from 11:30-12:15 and at the Severna Park Racquetball Club on Thursdays from 1:00-1:45pm.
